Sami Koskela

PERCUSSION

Sami Koskela has studied percussion instruments at Sibelius Academy and drums at Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia. In addition, he also has advanced studies in ethnic percussion instruments in Los Angeles in 2001. He went to L.A. to dig deeper into Afro-Caribbean rhythms – and that path led him later to meet Mr Pöyhönen & joining RTBB.

Sami is known as a versatile freelance musician. He has worked as a drummer/percussionist in dozens of musical and theatre productions, among others at the prestigious Helsinki City Theatre, and as a session musician in numerous recordings and movies. Nowadays he also works as a part-time teacher at Sibelius Academy.
